The FVHS theatre department has started production of “Mary Poppins” for the 2026 spring musical. The cast and crew list was announced on Dec. 10 and many people are very happy with their roles.
Sophomore ensemble member, Katie Atkin, said, “I have been in theatre since the beginning of my freshmen year, so this is my fourth show now. I’m very excited! I’ve wanted to be on cast for a long time, so I was very happy to hear I was in the ensemble. It’s going to be a lot of work, but I’m very excited to get started.”
Many people were put in new roles for this show and are very welcoming of the change. Some people also are just as happy returning to their previous roles.
Freshman assistant stage manager, Evelyn Bloom, said, “This is my second show for theatre so I’m excited to be back. I’m really happy to be back as an ASM. I think this will be such a fun show, and I’m really looking forward to being a part of it.”
Many people who are returning to their roles on either cast and crew are excited to get back to work and to strengthen relationships made during the fall play. Some upperclassmen are also excited to see some change in their jobs.
Junior ensemble member Clara Biasi said, “My roles are ensemble and Annie. I was pretty excited when I found out I got into the cast because this is my first show as an actor. I’ve been doing theatre with this school for three years as tech, so it was great to hear I got casted. I’m really excited for the musical and to see it come together. I think ‘Mary Poppins’ is a really cool musical. It’s true theatre as they say.”
Many of the cast and crew members, including Biasi, are really optimistic for the musical and are eager to put on an excellent show.
“Mary Poppins” is still in the early stages of production. The show will be presented on March 12-14, so there is a lot of work to do to make sure the musical is as enjoyable as possible.
