Spirit week begins on October 2nd, starting with Moody Monday. Tuesday is Time Travel, and Wednesday is We Wear Pink. Thursday is Anything But a Backpack, and Friday is Fuquay Friday.

The FVHS Homecoming spirit week will be held from Monday, Oct. 2. to Friday, Oct. 6, with varying exciting themes. Students should look forward to being able to express themselves and have fun during spirit week.

“It’s our first ever spirit week of the year. Students should be excited to participate in school spirit to support our Homecoming game,” said president of Student Council Emily Fairbairn.

After being approved by administration, Student Council voted upon the themes and the days.

“All the themes seem fun, I’m looking forward to it,” said sophomore Delia Ward.

Monday, Oct. 2, will be Moody Monday. Since Monday is also picture day, you can layer your clothing or bring a change on clothes to start out our spirit week.

Tuesday, Oct. 3, will be Time Travel. Students will have the choice of following fashion trends from the past, or what they think future fashion will look like.

Wednesday, Oct. 4, the theme is On Wednesdays We Wear Pink. Inspired by the popular 2004 film, “Mean Girls,” today your Bengals spirit will be shown by wearing all pink clothing.

Thursday, Oct. 5, it is Anything But A Backpack. Bring any item that is school appropriate that can act as your backpack for the day. It can range from things like a suitcase to a box, this is a widely loved theme by the students.

“My favorite theme is anything but a backpack because it’s really fun to see what creative things people do,” said Fairbairn.

In the past, this theme has been popular, with students bringing anything from coolers to bounce houses.

“I know it was banned last year, but freshman year it was exciting because a lot of people brought cool things, and it was a fun time. I hope they continue and keep doing it every year,” said junior Svyat Vasilyev.

Finally, Friday, Oct. 6, is “Fuquay Friday.” Come to school in your favorite Fuquay gear to show your Bengal pride.

Our Homecoming game will be Friday, Oct. 6, at 7:30 p.m. The Homecoming dance will be held on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 7-9 p.m.
