Many clubs are celebrating the end of the school year with their last meetings. American Sign Language Club and Theatre Club held their normal meetings with extra celebrations while FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) is asking people to bring their friends for an end of year party.
Senior Gloria Sanchez Mariona is the social media coordinator of Juniorettes which recently held their last meeting.
“It was super fun. We had a party and cookies. We talked about the new year and new officers. We have some girls right now going through the requirements and applications to become an officer,” said Sanchez Mariona.
The ASL Club had M&M pretzel flowers to celebrate the summer along with learning school signs. They celebrated their vice president, Michelle Burke, graduating and going to agriculture.
Sophomore Remi Jackson is a small group adviser for FCA.
“For our final meeting, our club is going to be having a big party with everyone just having some really good quality time before the summer,” said Jackson.
FCA has their last meeting Friday morning, May 29. Unlike their usual meetings where they go through a section of the Bible and meet in small groups, it will be a full group celebration.
“We’re going to try to [interact over summer], especially with a bunch of new leaders. We really want to stay connected to one another and possibly do something over the summer,” Jackson said.
Juniorettes are celebrating their last meeting by having a big party and encouraging others to do good work over the summer.
WOAH will go over all of their awards and what they have accomplished this year. They will finish the year by supplying pads to anyone who needs them for the summer.
Junior Joshita Mani Vadparthi is one of the leaders in WHOA.
“For the last meeting we’re inviting a lot of people, and Mrs. Bradford, the advisor, is making a slideshow for all the achievements that we had this whole year. We’re going to have snacks, and it will be really fun… At the end of the meeting, we’re going to supply pads all over the school for anyone who wants it during the summer,” said Vadparthi.
Many, like FCA and ASL club, hope to stay connected even in the summer. FCA has talked about meeting up at places for fellowship, while the ASL club plans to keep sending messages and articles about sign language to encourage learning.
Even though it’s their last meeting, clubs encourage more people to come so the next year they may have more people.
