But with that said, the recent obsession with the quarter zip trend stems from teenage boys. The premise of the trend is to wear a quarter zipper sweater to seem more mature to those around them and themselves while also poking fun at others who wear more ‘childish’ clothing like Nike Techs.

Although the trend is about being perceived as mature, teenage boys will need to learn that they won’t be seen as mature unless they act like it too. There is a difference between looking and acting mature, and the quarter zip trend only serves the image of maturity, not the actions or lifestyle that come with it.

Being mature is not just about looking and dressing grown, it’s about how you act. Maturity is being able to behave appropriately and have patience, not about joking around about others’ fashion choices  or feeling superior about your own.

The quarter zip trend just goes to show that people will judge how others act based on what they wear, not their actions. If you dress like someone that’s mature or rich then people will think that’s who you are, whether your actions hold up to that or whether or not that’s actually true.
