People watching the news on Nov. 14, were surprised and amused to hear that popular YouTuber and philanthropist known as ‘Mr. Beast’ was having a theme park bearing his image built in Saudi Arabia. It’s a very odd thing for Saudi Arabia to host the park for Mr. Beast since he has no ties to the nation. But they created the park for a good reason.
Every year in Saudi Arabia the Riyadh season is an annual festival that is a celebration of culture, history and lights, hosts games and activities for the kids before the festival starts, but this year was different. The hosts of the festival decided to make a limited-time attraction named after Mr. Beast dubbed ‘Mr. Beast Land.’
The theme park has numerous activities, all being real life versions of Mr. Beast’s challenges on YouTube. It experienced a record high number of people attending this season with 55,000 on opening day. A few of the challenges featured in Mr. Beast Land include battle bridge, drop zone and tower siege.
You may be wondering: why Mr. Beast? Well, the answer is simple. Mr. Beast is an insanely popular content creator with a record-shattering 435 million subscribers. His latest video has amassed 63 million views since the date it was released on Thanksgiving day. He is a world-wide phenomenon, with an audience ranging from your average American student to North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un and soccer stars Messi and Ronaldo. The idea to make an attraction in his name sake was a genius move, especially considering that a decent portion of the views he gets on YouTube come from Saudi Arabia.
This attraction has been very popular and the hosts have seriously considered making the park a recurring event. This attraction is open for business from November 14 to December 27 and will be disassembled after the new year.
