As some people may know, a famous hairdresser named Chrissy Rasmussen, also known as “Hair By Chrissy,” has gone viral for overcharging customers and not giving them the service they requested and paid for. Chrissy started her company in 1997, but she didn’t start her social media account until 2019.
Since she is famous herself, she feels as if she has to be exclusive to influencers. With this being said, people have been complaining about her only doing influencers hair and not giving the same service to non-influencers.
It all started on TikTok, when a girl spoke up about her experience at the salon as a non-influencer, although her name has not been shared with the public. She posted the video in November, going into detail about what happened, referring to the experience as “overwhelming because everyone is grabbing your hair everywhere [and] there’s like ten people around you and Chrissy is nowhere to be found.”
Early on in the video she shows the audience the receipt for her hair treatment and extensions. Looking at a total price of $4,216.61 to get her hair done sounds a little insane. If you break the pricing down, you can see that the majority of the bill was for Chrissy’s service ($2,974). This pricing is confusing, especially considering Chrissy wasn’t even in the area or giving the girl special attention.
Putting all of this together, it’s easy to understand why this girl would be so frustrated and upset with Chrissy’s service.
Many people have also come out with their own videos after this, complaining for the same reason. Since so many influencers go to Chrissy, people have speculated that she treats the non-influencers unfairly.
In conclusion, everybody will have their different opinions on this situation based on their experiences and what they’ve heard. If you’re curious and want more information there are lots of people who have gone to Chrissy and posted their experiences online.
