In Augusta, Georgia, the children in Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center’s children hospital were delighted when Chick-fil-A, a multi billion dollar restaurant food chain, gifted the hospital a never before seen product: a Chick-fil-A vending machine.
The Chick-fil-A vending machine is a patented invention by Chick-fil-A that distributes the restaurant’s products in a vending machine format, with the vending machine only taking cards instead of cash. Instead of spending a few dollars on a Diet Coke, you’re spending $8 on a chicken wrap. Items from the vending machine include the Chick-fil-A Cool Wrap with Avocado Lime Ranch, Southwest Veggie Wrap with Creamy Salsa, Chick-fil-A Chicken Wrap with Jalapeños, Original Waffle Potato Chips, and the Chick-fil-A Sauce Flavored Waffle Potato Chips.
The children staying at the hospital are overjoyed by the kind gift from Chick-fil-A, with dozens of kids already lining up to get their hands on the vending machine’s goods. The vending machine, like their creator, is open everyday except Sunday due to the company’s founder’s Christian roots.
The vending machine is currently an experimental product, with Chick-fil-A executives weighing the pros and cons of the vending machine. So far, only two vending machines, the one in the children’s hospital and one at Georgia Tech exist. Executives have plans to make the vending machine a global product depending on how the children’s hospital experiment plays out.
Chick-fil-A blessed the children in Augusta, Georgia’s Wellstar children’s hospital with a delightful gift that is sure to bring children joy during their stay at the hospital. Chick-fil-A’s kind act really illustrates how a company is supposed to use their resources.
