Canceled TV shows that deserve a revival

Over the years many popular TV shows have been canceled for different reasons.

Many would think that a TV series ending on a cliffhanger is bad, but imagine canceling a TV show on a cliffhanger. That is what happened with most of these TV shows that deserve a revival. Every one of us has that one TV show that got canceled way too soon. These shows that got canceled have a strong, opinionated fan base, but very few of them ever return from cancellation. Here are a few that deserve a revival.

Number One ¨Mindhunter¨ (2017-2019)

“Mindhunter” was a Netflix original true crime series that became very popular for the dramatization of the development of serial killer profiling techniques. This TV series was based on a true crime book of the same name co-written by a retired FBI agent. This show is very well-loved for the historical angles and the spot-on performance of the actors who played the famous serial killers interviewed by the main characters and protagonists of the story, Ford and Trench. Overall the show had a great plot and was beautifully written with a great cliffhanger about the BTK killer, Dennis Rader, and the investigation.

Number Two ¨Santa Clarita Diet¨ (2017-2019)

“Santa Clarita Diet ” is a horror comedy that stars Timothy Olyphant and Drew Barrymore as a married couple working in real estate, and it gets more difficult when Barrymore’s character develops a craving for human flesh. It was canceled after three gory full seasons. People on social media are dying for this iconic show to make a comeback. The couple in the show was praised for their relationship dynamic. The cliffhangers that the husband got possessed and was yet to turn into a zombie at the end left people wanting another season. This show deserves another season, and people also want this series on different streaming platforms.

Number Three ¨Freaks and Geeks¨ (1999-2000)

The show “Freaks and Geeks” was popular in the early 2000s, due to the characters that portray high school students more accurately than other TV shows. However, the show ran into obstacles due to the irregular airing schedules and competition from other popular shows at the time. The biggest downfall for the show was the change in leadership and the show’s creators. The popularity of the show was because it gave a slice of a real-life high school experience for the audience. That’s why it was so well-loved. When it was canceled in the early 2000s, it caused huge devastation to its audience. Now, it’s considered a cult classic.

Number Four ¨Succession¨ (2018-2023)

The TV show “Succession” is another show that ended on its own terms and probably will not have a return. The final episode aired in May 2023, and you learned that certain main characters and their siblings have some untold stories that need to be told. This is a perfect conclusion for the main characters and their story arc, but it would definitely be interesting to learn about the siblings and what led them to their character arc.

There are many TV shows that we all find near and dear to our hearts that should have a revival. Most of them are not probably going to happen, but there are definitely some that will remain in our minds forever because of the lack of closure for the characters in the show.
