The FVHS theatre department is presenting the spring musical “Mary Poppins” on March 12-14. Both viewers and people that are working in the musical are ready for the show to begin.
In total there are going to be four showings. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night at 7 p.m. as well as another on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
The cast is excited and are looking forward to the opening night as well as nervous for the show.
Freshman Sealah Cabe, an ensemble member, said, “I think [the musical] is a great outlet, but I think for some people, it can be a major stressor because of the requirements you need to have done within tech and acting.”
The musical can stress students out and can become overwhelming, but it can also be a great way to spend your time and is something that students love to do every year.
Cabe said, “I have been doing theater since sixth grade, and I wanted to continue in high school.”
In the audience, people are just as excited to be attending the event.
Freshman Lexa Acheampong said, “I’m really excited to go to the musical, I have a lot of friends that are in it.”
The main cast has been training really hard in order to make sure that this musical comes out amazing. They are prepared to perform all three nights of the show at their best.
Junior Amelia Fruend, who plays Mary Poppins said, “I hope everything goes well, I think it will. Rehearsals went well and we have another rehearsal tonight, so I just hope to see everything come together.”
Many students are choosing to go to the musical. Some are going on different nights, but all of them are overall expecting to see a great performance.
The musical is going to be at FVHS in the auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the FVHS Theatre website. Tickets cost $10 per person.
