Fortnite moderators have officially added its latest update to the game, released on Jan. 9, 2026. Featuring South Park, a popular comedy series, Fortnite now has new skins in the item shop, new map locations, gameplay items, and new playlists.

Players can now play as the five main characters from South Park: Stan, Kyle, Cartman, Kenny and Butters. They can equip the new mythic weapons that can be earned from defeating bosses on the map, the stick of truth being one of them that assists players in the game by manipulating the storm and making it difficult for players to catch up to the safe zone. This new mythic weapon gives players an advantage and shows cool animations as well.

“Me and my friends all bought the new South Park skins to match with each other, and we all think it’s a cool update to the game,” said junior Adrian Applegate.

Fortnite has also added new playlists. Originally you could play either solos, duos, trios and squads with a maximum of four players. But now players can play with up to five people in both Battle Royale and Zero Build modes. This allows players to create larger teams and even more chaos along the way.

“This not only makes the games more fun by playing with more people but more intense. It gives me and my friends more of a challenge,” said junior Hannah Mandel.

South Park being added is a great addition to the game overall, it includes new playable characters, weapons and fun new game modes. This update makes Fortnite even more enjoyable and exciting for previous and new players.
