A new year means new beginnings, especially for new businesses. 2026 brought lots of excitement for Fuquay-Varina, with several shops opening the same day, including O My Boba and Stuf’d Donuts, along with the grand opening of The Social Board.
O My Boba officially opened Jan. 2, and offers a very diverse drink menu that many people are excited to try. The shop has many different kinds of drinks like milk teas, fruit teas, lemonade, coffee, smoothies and milkshakes. O My Boba is located at 2916 North Main Street in Fuquay-Varina.
Stuf’d Donuts also officially opened on Jan. 2, adding their own spin to the classic donut. The shop focuses on filled donuts and offers a range of different flavors, and it’s a great spot for donut lovers to try. Stuf’d is located on 400 Broad Street in Fuquay-Varina.
Many people are excited when businesses like these to open because it gives them a chance to help support the community.
Sophomore Ana Rivera said, “I love small businesses. I feel like they add a unique feel to the town. Me and my friends love to go and hang out at places like that, and I think it’s a really great way to connect to the community. I think several of these new businesses sound exciting but I’m mainly excited about the donut place. I really want to go to that because I love filled donuts.”
Small businesses are essential to Fuquay-Varina because it provides the opportunity for the community to support the town and to support these smaller businesses instead of larger corporations. They also add a personal touch to towns because it’s something that only the people of the town can experience. They also care a lot more about the things they are making, and people tend to feel like they care more about their customers than large corporate chains do.
Another small business that is coming to Fuquay is The Social Board, which will be located in Fuquay-Varina’s JT’s Creamery at 2128 Gathering Square Court. The Social Board will have their grand opening Jan. 16, and they will have a wide range of board and card games to play with friends and family.
