With the holiday season rapidly approaching, the FCCLA (Family Career and Community Leaders of America) is hosting the Bengals Bells Bash. The event is happening Saturday, Dec. 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and there are things for your whole family to do. Student and family events like these boost school spirit and encourage people to learn about and join other clubs.
The FCCLA organization consists of student members whose goal is to promote self-growth and leadership development through family and consumer sciences education. They provide opportunities to help learn real life skills and grow as an individual. It encourages involvement within schools to achieve cooperation and harmony. The FCCLA will help run the Bengals Bells Bash making fun for the whole family.
“It seems fun and would be a fun thing to do with some friends,” said freshman Zoey Wewer.
People can bring gifts in and have them wrapped for a one dollar donation. The money is going towards the FCCLA’s events and the STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) event. Last minute Christmas shopping is also available with presents from local vendors. Some of the other winter activities will include children’s crafts, gift wrapping, cookie decorating and other winter activities.
“I would like to go to experience the winter activities, but I think the cookie decorating sounds the most fun,” said freshmen Hailey Culbert.
Some NHS members as well as members of Key Club and others will get the chance to help out during the Bengals Bells Bash and introduce people to their own clubs.
