Coastal Cool and CDT Automotives, partnered together to create a fundraiser to give back to Military Missions In Action.

Coastal Cool is an online business that sells swimwear crafted from recycled plastic bottles. Their mission is to make the environment a better place.

CDT Automotive is an off-road shop in Fuquay Varina that works mainly on trucks and Jeeps. They also work on other types of vehicles.

Military Missions In Action (MMIA) is dedicated to assisting veterans with disabilities, homeless veterans and members of the Armed Forces. The charity event accepted all donations from clothing to food.

Sophomore Holden Bierman, the owner of Coastal Cool, brought in his Jeep to get worked on at CDT. When he met the team, they brought the idea to make an event.

The charity event consisted of a car show, where anybody who had a car could participate in the event, which also had beverage stands and food trucks.

The car criteria was split into exotics, Jeeps, and old classics. Each category had a competition on who had the coolest car or truck. The prizes included gift cards and merchandise. Coastal Cool personally gave out $600 worth of gift cards.

Being the first event hosted by Coastal Cool, the car show was successful in gaining lots of donations for MMIA.

Beirman said, “I think it was very successful; we gave back a lot to the MMIA.”
