The  Carolina Hurricanes have been playing hard and doing a great job this season with a current record of 15-6-6.

Outside of the regular season, the Canes have a lot of fun and upcoming events to take part in and celebrate in North Carolina.

After the holidays, the Canes will host NC Night on Jan. 10, where the Old North State will be celebrated as they take on the New Jersey Devils at the PNC Arena. This is an inaugural game and will feature special warm-up sweaters, unique food, special merchandise, and live music.

The Canes plan to showcase the ECHL team, the IceCaps, whose home was Raleigh’s Dorton Arena from 1991 to 1998.  Raleigh IceCaps warm-up sweaters, on-ice jerseys, and special IceCaps gear will also be available at The Eye, and former IceCaps players are scheduled to attend the game.

The team is also planning on featuring a BBQ sandwich with Cheerwine sauce and hushpuppies for the game, along with banana pudding. There will be a poster giveaway with art designed by a North Carolina artist, and live music from local artists will be scheduled for the evening.

The Carolina Hurricanes, with the NHL, will host an outdoor game at NC State’s Carter-Finley Stadium against the Washington Capitals on Feb. 18, 2023. The event will mark the first time the Hurricanes have participated in an outdoor game.

“We’re thrilled to finally get the chance to safely host an outdoor game in Raleigh,” said Hurricanes President and General Manager Don Waddel to the News and Observer. “Our fans have waited for this event since we announced it two years ago, and we know that their passion and energy will create an unbelievable atmosphere at Carter-Finley.”

The Canes were in action this week against the Detroit Red Wings and closed out a six-game road trip with a win. They have secured at least one point in their last nine road games. The Canes wore their white uniforms before heading back to Raleigh immediately post-game to prepare for a four-game home stretch that kicks off tonight.

Carolina Ale House in Garner will be hosting a watch party tonight where the community can enjoy games and contests with prizes that include autographed Canes items and merchandise from The Eye, visits from Stormy and the Canes Crew, in-game shoutouts from the Hurricanes broadcast team, and more. This event kicks off at 7 p.m.
