The FVHS art show will give students a chance to show their artwork and share their creativity with others. The event will be held in the school’s main gym and will include different types of art made by students throughout the year.
“Art shows are important for students because it raises their confidence in their skill and sets the stage for pieces that they put so much effort into. To some people art is just a hobby, to others it’s a genuine part of who they are. Art accentuates the inner talent and brings out the feelings of one into paper. So what is a better way to show those feelings to the public and peers than an art show,” said sophomore Lakshya Bobbili.
The art will take place on Wednesday, April 29, from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, April 30, from 5-7 p.m. and Saturday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students, teachers and families are invited to come and see the art on display.
“It’s cool to see what other students make and how creative they are,” said sophomore Diya Krishnan Karthikeyan.
Students in art classes have been working on their projects for a long time. They have chosen their best pieces to display, including drawings, paintings and other creative work. The gym will be set up like an art gallery so people can walk around and look at everything. Visitors will be able to take their time and look closely at each piece. The show is meant to be simple and easy for everyone to enjoy.
“Yes, some might not feel happy or comfortable putting their work out there, and that’s alright. But to others, an art show is a cherishable memory that shows people to appreciate their craft,” said Bobbili.
The event will highlight the effort students have put into their art work over time. It will also show the variety of styles and ideas students have explored in class. From detailed drawing to colorful paintings, the show will include many different types of art.
“I think it gets to showcase what sort of talent we have at the school, and the whole school gets to see it. A lot of people, they hear about sports and other activities at
school, but we don’t get to do that with art. So the art show is that big event where we get to showcase everybody’s talent,” said Justin DePue, an art teacher at FVHS.
The FVHS art show will be a great chance for the school community to come together and support student artists. Anyone who attends will be able to see the hard work and creativity of the students. The event will also help students feel more confident and proud of what they created.
