As the 2023-24 school year ends, some of our best memories include football games and flag football.

As the 2023-24 school year comes to an end, we Bengals can reflect on all of the memories made throughout the year.

There have been many opportunities for memories this year from sports games to club-held events and many more.

“My favorite school year memory would probably be the football games. I loved hanging out with all of my friends and getting to know new people,” said sophomore Bre’Nasia Edwards.

We had many amazing football games this year, which opened opportunities to meet new people. The Orange Crush had great spirit, creating a positive environment.

“I loved watching the womens flag football team play this year. I got to cheer on all of my friends, which was a lot of fun,” said sophomore Jasmyne Nthautha.

This was the first year the WCPSS school system included womens flag football as a sport for student-athletes. This was a huge turning point because we have powderpuff games for flag football once a year. Having this as an actual sport in Wake County was a great opportunity.

“I had a lot of fun at the FCCLA drunk driving event. It was a great experience getting to go up to each table and enter the raffle,” said freshman Savannah Hess.

FCCLA held their annual drunk driving event before prom to remind students to be safe and to not drink and drive. This was an overall fun experience because they had a crash course simulator where you got to experience a simulated car crash. There was also a lot of socializing and fun.

Also, this year was the first homecoming in years because last year’s homecoming was canceled. This was such a great experience and a lot of fun with friends.

“I loved homecoming because I had a lot of fun dancing and hanging out with my friends,” said sophomore Lauren Gittens.

Overall, there have been many great memories made this year, and hopefully many more to come in the upcoming school year.
