Pictures for all participating clubs at FVHS will be taken for the yearbook in the auxiliary gym on Monday, Oct, 23. Club pictures will get their own section of the yearbook when it’s finished and available to students. All club members are encouraged to stand out from one another by bringing props, signs, costumes, themed T-shirts, etc. to show off what their club is about and have fun with it.

Club advisers will sign up for specific times and club members will be dismissed throughout the day. While smaller clubs won’t have any issue with fitting in frame, bigger clubs such as the National Honor Society will have to still be fit into one picture because the yearbook staff does not want clubs split up.

Yearbook adviser and English teacher Stanley Hsu is in charge of working with partners to get pictures taken and to help his staff create the yearbook itself and its layout.

“A big part of the yearbook is to consider equity,” Hsu said, “[We’re] going to give them [NHS] a lot more space because [there’s] a lot of people, and we can’t chop things up.”

Besides club pictures, yearbook staff also is responsible for photographing the underclassmen and seniors, homecoming, prom and other school events taking place.

Yearbook works with professional photographer partners to take pictures of students and clubs. Yearbook staff needs extra help with taking pictures of large numbers of people, so they are scheduled far in advance to make sure pictures are taken smoothly and quickly.

Pictures are the backbone of the yearbook, and clubs are important to be included, since they play a large role in the FVHS school community.

“[Clubs] do a lot of work outside of school, and we want to honor that,” said Hsu.
