FVHS womens soccer has started their conference games with a bang. As of April 28, the soccer team is 8-0-1 in conference and 15-2-2 in their regular season. Leaders like junior Violet Terrasse, senior Reagan Tart and sophomore Bella Bugallo are all on the leaderboard for goals per match and points overall. Although senior Claire Pulling, the team captain, has been injured and out for the last few games, she made an impressive comeback in the game against Southeast Raleigh. Pulling scored one assist in the seventh conference game, ending the game and keeping the Bengals’ record at 8-0-1 in conference play.

Terrasse, who leads the team in goals per match, assists per match and points, said, “I feel really good about where we are right now. I like that everyone’s doing their best and it’s going well. I feel like we are playing a lot better, and there is a big connection with the team.”

Bugallo is the team’s forward and leads the team, scoring ten goals this season.

“When our mindset is to focus on playing the best soccer we connect better as a team, when we do this we usually secure a win,” said Bugallo.

When the Bengals have this mindset, they not only secure a win but set a domino effect for future games.

Sofia Del Valle, the team’s junior winger, said, “Our level of competition has improved with us being more physical. We’ve won almost all of our games, and we have been playing faster and more organized.”

The womens soccer team has a total of four games left, three of them being conference games. Overall, if the Bengals keep up the hard work during the season, they may have a better outcome than last season, when the womens 2024-2025 team ended second in conference. As play continues, one thing is certain for the Bengals, the team isn’t showing up to compete, they are here to make a statement and bring FVHS home a conference title.
