The FVHS mens lacrosse team is about halfway through the season, with an overall record of 7-3, and a conference record of 4-2.

The Bengals are a part of the Greater Neuse River Conference. This conference consists of Willow Springs, Garner, Corinth Holders, Clayton, Cleveland, South Garner, and Southeast Raleigh. FVHS ranks third in the conference with a record of 4-2, behind Garner with a record of 4-2 and Willow Springs with a record of  6-0.

Junior Connor Castle has the most goals on the team with a total of 27, averaging three goals per game. Castle also has the most assists with a total of 26, averaging 2.9 assists per game. He is also leading the Bengals with the most points on the team, with a career total of 53.

Junior Connor Everett has the second most goals with 19 and second most assists with five. Everett also has the second highest points, scoring 24 points in his career.

“We’re really at our best when we work together as a team and cooperate,” said junior Connor Castle.

The best game that the team has played was against Sanderson High School. The Bengals won the game 17-5.  Everett scored the most goals during the game with a total of five, followed by Castle and sophomore Ty Halle, both with four goals.

“I love it when the team gets hyped because when we are all hyped I feel like we play better,” said Everett.

The Bengals still have about seven games remaining in the regular season. If the team keeps the pace they are on, they will make the playoffs with ease.

“I have really high hopes for our shot at the playoffs this season. We just need to keep rolling and we’ll get there,” said Halle.

The FVHS Bengals are on a roll, winning 70 percent of the games they have played and are expected to make the playoffs.

You can catch our mens lacrosse team in action at their next game at home against Jordan High School on Friday, April 5 at 6 p.m.
