Paw Patrol Barks Back

Paw Patrol Barks Back

PAW Patrol is back with a sequel to their first movie, “PAW Patrol: The Movie,” which was released in 2021. After two years, they’ve released “PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie.”

“PAW Patrol: The Movie” focused more on Chase who was back in Adventure City. This was the source of his fear of abandonment which caused him to have flashbacks and heightened anxiety that hindered his ability to take action, leaving him feeling useless and not worthy to be a leader. However, when Ryder was in danger, Chase remembered Ryder’s words about his courage. Chase took a leap of faith across the gap, overcoming his fear and saving Ryder. The movie’s message was that people can overcome their fears even when faced with conflict.

FVHS junior Brayden Bolger who works at AMC Theaters stated, “Most people coming out of the movie are pretty happy about it. I see a lot of kids really excited about seeing their favorite characters in movie form.”

Heading into “PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie,” the pups are back in Adventure City. A new villain, Victoria Vance, has used her Meteor Magnet to pull down a meteor containing crystals inside. The meteor turns out to be too strong and goes off course towards Adventure City. The PAW Patrol rushes over and saves the day, but their home and vehicles are destroyed. The pups take the meteor to their aircraft carrier and get their paws on the crystals inside and gain superpowers. Skye can fly; Chase is fast; Marshall has fire powers; Zuma has water powers; Rocky has magnetic powers; and Rubble is a literal wrecking ball. Liberty can’t seem to figure out her powers. The pups have to stop ex-Mayor Humdinger and his new accomplice Victoria Vance from wreaking havoc in Adventure City.

“PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie” focuses on Skye. Due to her size, Skye feels unappreciated and hopes to prove herself. In an attempt to do so, she ends up losing all the pups’ crystals and getting captured. Then the PAW Patrol has to save her, leaving her feeling useless and always needing help from her team. In the end, the pups give Skye all the crystals and rely on her to fly up into the sky and destroy the meteors Vance pulled down with her Meteor Magnet.

“It’s a very enjoyable movie, the animation is very good, and they have an amazing message, ‘Even if you’re the smallest one in your family or in a group, you still have a lot of power to do a lot of things,’” Bolger stated.

Making a movie adaptation from a show can be a challenge, but fans of PAW Patrol all agree that this movie did the show justice and more.

Junior Nick Ratnesar, who is an avid PAW Patrol fan, stated, “PAW Patrol is truly one of the greatest shows of all time, it’s done amazing things for my childhood. It’s helped me develop character, taught me to look out for others, and it’s definitely been an entertaining show to watch.”
