The 13th Annual Festival of Legends will be at Sugg Farm April 25-26. They are celebrating with the theme of luck by hosting music, food trucks and medieval events. People are allowed to dress up if they want to. This year they will have a free pre-opening celebration from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, April 24, also at Sugg Farm.

Over the weekend, the festival will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be children’s events along with vendors selling items like clothing to wands. There are wandering characters, like Queen Ashura and her summer fairy court, Thimbleberry the Woodsprite, L.U.T.E. the living statue and many other fairies and goblins.

Several combat groups will be there, showing off their medieval skills. Junior Zach Miller is a part of the Sword Conservatory, which hosts Fight A Knight, along with shows.

Miller said, “Then every now and then, like every three to four hours we would do demonstrations. So we would use our weapons and our gear and fight each other to show off to the public.”

Animal groups will be there, like Humphrey Honey Bunny Farm and CLAWS Inc. Goblin Queen Reptiles will have reptile meet-n-greets at 10:15 a.m., 11 a.m., 2:45 p.m., 2 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m each day. Many of these animals have been rescued.

This will be Junior Audrey Ehresman’s first time at the Festival of Legends.

“I’m really looking forward to the entire thing. I don’t really know exactly what it’ll be like, so I can’t place one specific thing. I just know that I’m going to have a great time,” said Ehresman.

Though the pre-opening celebration is free, the weekend requires tickets. Online tickets cost $15 for the advance day pass and advance weekend pass is $20. Day-of tickets are available and will be sold at the front gate. The day-of day pass is $20 and the day-of weekend pass is $25. A special 2026 event pin that is sold each year. If bought in advance it is $10 but $15 if bought in person. Tickets can be purchased here.

Many students are planning to go. They are excited about the magical surroundings near their own homes. Additionally many people bring in small trinkets to give for free, which bonds the community.

“It is a giant Renaissance fair, and I do enjoy that a lot. You have a lot of other people there. You have small vendors, which I love. I personally love small vendors because it helps communities out there. Some of the small vendors are really crafted well, and it’s just really interesting to see everyone and how they dress up for the Ren Fair and interact with others,” said Miller.
