The new Target draws in more customers

The brand new Target, located in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina is set to open on Sunday, March 15, 2026. It’s going to be open from the hours of 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. This store will offer groceries, clothing and household items to the Fuquay area.

The store is located at 3200 Gold Ring Road at the Gold Leaf Crossing shopping center. Construction has been in progress since April 2025, but the real planning began in 2021.

The location of this store is very convenient for lots of people. Many find it closer to their house than the Target in Holly Springs.

Freshman Gabriella Wiggins said, “The Target’s going to be closer to my house, and I go to Target every other weekend.”

People are also happy to not need to visit two stores in order to get their essentials.

Freshman Harper Burdick said, “[Only going to Target] is easier than going to Harris Teeter and going to Target for groceries.”

Locals are excited for the new store to open, so that they can see what it offers and what it may look like. Many are also hoping to see new things as well as old.

Burdick said, “[I hope to see] a lot of the same stuff that’s in Holly Springs, but I would hope for more clothes because sometimes I feel like the options get limited.”

People are generally anticipating the opening because they really enjoy going to Target to buy their items.

Wiggins said, “[Target] has Starbucks, cute clothes, needohs and squishies.”

The new store is said to be bigger and have a more modern layout. It is going to be 148,000 square feet and is supposed to be 23,000 square feet larger than the average Target.

It is said to feature a 13,000 square foot food and beverage department, a Starbucks, a CVS pharmacy, and an Apple and Disney shop-in-shops. It is also going to offer enhanced self-checkout experiences.
