Wake Tech’s mens basketball team, the Ticklers, have secured a spot in the March Madness tournament as the 15th seed, marking a historic achievement for the squad. Their path to the tournament has been defined by collective effort, resilience and a relentless pursuit of success.

Throughout the season, the Ticklers faced formidable opponents and grueling challenges, but they never wavered in their determination to reach March Madness. Led by a roster of talented players who complement each other’s strengths, they navigated the ups and downs of the season with unity and determination.

Each victory and setback served as a stepping stone in their journey, driving them to work harder and push further toward their goal. Whether it was a thrilling buzzer-beater win or a tough loss, the team remained focused on their ultimate objective—to earn a coveted spot in the NCAA tournament.

As the regular season drew to a close, the Ticklers found themselves in contention for a March Madness run. Their fate hung in the balance as they awaited the selection committee’s decision. When their name was announced, it was a moment of jubilation and validation for the entire team—a reward for their tireless effort and dedication throughout the season.

Now, as they prepare to step onto the national stage of March Madness, the Ticklers are determined to make the most of their opportunity. They know they will face tough competition, but they are undaunted, drawing strength from their unity and shared sense of purpose.

For the Ticklers, making it to March Madness is more than just a chance to compete; it’s a testament to their resilience and belief in each other. As they represent Wake Tech on the national stage, they carry with them the hopes and dreams of their teammates, coaches and supporters.

In the grand tradition of March Madness, where underdogs often rise to the occasion and write their own stories of triumph, the Ticklers are ready to make their mark. Win or lose, their journey is a reminder of the power of teamwork, determination  and unwavering belief in the pursuit of greatness.

The Wake Tech basketball team had a record of 17-14. The toughest opponent that the team faced was UNC and lost the game 88-64. After that game, Wake Tech went on a seven-game winning streak.

“Our team has never been better, I think we have a real shot at the championship this year,” said head coach Losh Joughren this past weekend.
