The FVHS womens golf Team is now undefeated with four first place finishes due to a historical first place finish last week.

Captain Kaitlynn Barnes, shot a 37, making her a medalist. The other medalist was Alison Field, who shot a 42. The team as a whole ended the day with a 121, a new school record.

“I like being around my teammates and making history this year,” said Kaitlyn Barnes after her match at Pine Hollow Golf Club.

The golf team is 4-0-0 in four matches this season. They have eight players, seven of which are juniors and seniors. The remaining player is freshman Taylor Barnes.

“I think we’re doing pretty good this season, speaking that our team is fully juniors, and we will have seniors next year,” said Kaitlynn Barnes.

The win last week took their first place streak up to four in a row. This is in addition to their head-to-head match against Holly Springs, which they won 128

to 160.

The team has already improved on last year’s record, where they were 2-2-4 in 11 matches. Golf scores are formatted as: first place finishes, second place finishes, third place finishes, then the number of games played.

They are looking forward to their next match on Tuesday, September 26, where they will go up against Southeast Raleigh at River Ridge Golf Club.
