What if a famous celebrity came back from the dead? Not necessarily that they’re revived but what if someone manages to portray that celebrity perfectly, giving off their energy and showing us everything the celebrity did, walking us through the memories from their perspective?
The new movie “Michael” is an upcoming and anticipated release that is directed by Antoine Fuqua. This particular director is known for the films “Training Days” (2001), “Olympus Has Fallen” (2013) and many others. The film portrays Michael’s life, from childhood to his death in 2009. It includes his artistic triumphs, personal struggles and controversies.
This film stars Jaafar Jackson, who is Michael’s nephew and the son of Jermaine Jackson and Alejandra Genevieve Oaziaza. In January 2024, Lionsgate announced that 9-year-old Juliano Krue Valdi would play young Michael Jackson, and Katherine Jackson, his mother, would be played by Nia Long. The rest of the Jacksons will be portrayed by Jayden Harville and Jamal R. Henderson as Jermaine, Jaylen Lydon Hunter and Tre Horton as Marlon, Judah Edwards and Rhyan Hill as Tito and Nathaniel Logan Mclntyre and Joseph David-Jones as Jackie.
According to People Magazine in an interview with Lionsgate, the film company shared that principle photography for the film began the week of Jan. 22, 2024. The biopic wrapped filming in May 2024, according to Fandango.
Jaafar Jackson explained in a behind-the-scenes video for the film, “I have never dreamed to be an actor or even thought of playing him [Michael]. But I knew it was a calling.”
Long called her character “an incredible pillar of strength and grace for the entire Jackson family” in an interview with People Magazine.
Katherine Jackson said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in January 2023, “It’s so wonderful to see him carry on the Jackson legacy of entertainers and performers.”
A lot of people are excited for this film, dedicated to Michael Jackson fans. This film presents an aspect of Michael Jackson that not many people know about. The ‘King of Pop’ might not come back from the dead, but his legacy will be known by everyone moving forward.
