We’ve all grown up watching musicals. There are hundreds of different classic musicals out there, from ¨The Sound of Music¨ to ¨Mary Poppins,¨ and even ¨The Lion King.¨  

That being said, everyone prefers their own musical. The most popular 2024 musicals this year so far have been ¨Hamilton,¨ ¨Wicked,¨ and ¨Aladdin,¨ according to The Best Broadway Shows. These are the best known musicals for their famous movie remakes and trendy music. 

After much research, one of the most famous musicals of all time was the renowned ¨The Sound of Music.¨ This film made over $286.2 million at the box office, which was huge for or a movie like that back in the 1960s, during a time of war. 

“I remember watching the movie when I was young, and it was interesting,” said freshman Abby Hills. 

“The Sound of Music” film was known for its classic music sung by the iconic Julie Andrews. It was filmed in beautiful Austria and is recreated as a play in thousands of high schools across the country. 

One of the most famous songs in the movie is called “Do Re Mi,” which has a catchy tune to it, produced by Guido. This is by far my favorite song in the whole movie because of its poetic sound, and it’s fun to sing whenever.

I like “The Sound of the Music” the best because of its beautiful setting in Austria and the actors that starred in it. Andrews perfectly played the nanny of the kids and star singer. 

To say this is a good film is a huge understatement. This film completely changed a generation of music and film. This is why “The Sound of Music” is known to be the best musical of all time.
