Kyle Busch was one of the greatest race car drivers in NASCAR history. He was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. Growing up in a racing family, he started driving a small go-kart when he was only six years old. Known by his nickname Rowdy, he spent over 20 years exciting fans with his great driving skills and big personality. Whether people were cheering or booing, everyone wanted to watch him race.

Busch was the most successful driver in NASCAR’s modern era. He won 234 races across NASCAR’s top three series. In the main Cup Series, he won 63 races and took home two championship trophies, first in 2015 and again in 2019. He also holds the record for the most wins in both the Xfinity Series and the Truck Series. He simply loved to race, and he loved to win.

Busch was famous for being a tough competitor on the track. He drove aggressively and always said exactly what was on his mind. When he won a race, he would climb out of his car and give a big bow to the crowd, even if they were booing him. Over time, fans grew to respect him because he was always true to himself.

But Busch did not just race for himself, he also helped the future of the sport.

He started his own team, Kyle Busch Motorsports. Through this team, he coached and taught many young drivers, helping them get their start and become stars in NASCAR today.

Busch was a dedicated family man. He loved supporting his young son, Brexton, who is already starting his own racing career at eleven. NASCAR is not letting anyone use the number 8 and is saving it for his son. He also ran a charity with his wife, Samantha, called the Bundle of Joy Fund to help families.

Tragically, Kyle Busch passed away on May 21, 2026, at the young age of 41. He died at a hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina. He had been secretly battling pneumonia for a few weeks. The illness suddenly got much worse and led to an infection, which led to severe internal bleeding. He became unresponsive in a racing simulator and was rushed to the hospital, but sadly, he could not be saved.

He leaves behind a mountain of racing records, a garage full of drivers he helped train, and a lasting legacy. NASCAR will never forget the impact of Rowdy.
