The countdown to Homecoming starts today. With only two weeks left, there’s no doubt that people are getting anxious over what to wear. If you’re struggling with ideas or need more inspiration, this is for you.
The big question is: what can I wear with this theme? “Golden Gala” pins it down to one color: gold. But just because it’s the main color doesn’t mean you’re restricted to it. Some students have already picked out their dresses, and not all the colors are gold.
“My dress is an aqua color with flowers. It’s also glittery and tight-fitting,” said sophomore Taylor King. Aqua is a great tone of blue to go with gold, maybe with heels or jewelry.
Other students are putting their own spin on the theme.
“My dress is a buttermilk yellow with sparkles and has a loose top. It’s also tight around the waist, and the sides are scrunched,” said freshman Gabby Wiggins.
If you have an idea of what you want but still need help finding a dress, keep reading. There are many shops out there that offer a wide variety of dresses, but what are some good ones?
Zapaka can be a helpful website if you’re looking for detailed and tight-fitting dresses. The prices are a bit higher than others, but for their quality, it’s fair.
Azazie is another good website like Zapaka. They are in the same price range and also very detailed. Both of these websites have filter sections with lots of categories so you can pin down exactly what you want.
If you’re going for a more simple and flowy look, Showpo has a great variety of dresses that follow a simple style. They also have decent prices that range from $80 to $130.
Selfie Leslie has even more affordable options than Showpo, and follows the same style. These places are great if you want simple and elegant dresses.
Lastly, some common stores like Windsor and Lulus are very affordable places to look for dresses. They have so many options and styles that are perfect for the theme. If you can’t decide on what style you want, these are the places to go. You can find Windsor at local malls like Crabtree and Southpoint or order online. Delivery for Windsor typically takes one week, so you’ll need to get on that.
Some students have actually already gone to these places to get their dresses.
“I got my dress from Windsor. It’s a light blue with purple sparkles,” said freshman Gianna Skalski.
Another student went to Cousin Couture to get theirs.
“I got my dress from Cousin Couture,” said sophomore Murray Buddin.
You can get any dress that makes you feel confident, regardless of its color. Since everybody has their own concept of how they want to dress, you should dress however your heart desires and wear what makes you feel good.
