Top candy this Halloween season

    Halloween is already coming up within less than a week, and people are eager to receive free candy. 

    Freshman Iva Ramos stated, “I think Hershey’s may be in the top candies because of the variety of flavors.”

    Number five on the list of “top candies” according to “real simple” are Snickers, with a total of four states choosing it as its top candy, including North Carolina. Snickers are made of milk chocolate, peanuts and caramel. Alaska, Idaho, and Rhode Island also chose Snickers as their top candies. 

    M&M’s are a part of the top candies, ranking number four. Some states that choose M&M’s are Wyoming, Ohio, and Hawaii. They have been popular since the 1950s, and are considered one of the classic candies that many people seem to enjoy. M&M’s are made of chocolate or chocolate with peanuts. 

    Ranking number three of the top Halloween candies is Skittles. It is one of the few top candies that do not consist of chocolate. Five states chose Skittles as their most popular candy for Halloween. Some of these states are Washington, Tennessee, and North Dakota. 

    The second most popular candy, with nine states choosing it as its top candy are Kit Kats. Some of these states include Virginia, South Carolina, New York, and New Mexico. Kit Kats consist of chocolate and wafers. 

    Lastly, the top ranking Halloween candy is Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. As of the year 2021, there were roughly around 116 tons of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups sold throughout the country. This popular candy consists of milk chocolate and peanut butter. 22 states choose Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups as their top candy. 

    In the end, Halloween candies will always be the excitement of Halloween. Whether you’re old or young, everyone enjoys it.
