Multi-sport athletes are always some of the hardest working individuals you could ever meet. Their work ethic and motivation to be great is very impressive. At FVHS there are many people who are multi-sport athletes, but something you don’t see very often is a triple sport athlete. A triple sport athlete is someone who plays three school sports.

A student who stands out in this category is freshman Lucas Prestipino, who plays lacrosse, football, and wrestling. Playing three school sports can be very beneficial for your mind and body.

“Playing school sports makes me physically fit as well as giving me opportunities to  connect socially,” Prestipino said.

A second example of a three sport athlete is FVHS sophomore Grant Swayngim, who runs cross country, winter track, and spring track.

“Working in three different sports lets me meet new people, and find other people that have the same interests as me. I joined cross country in the summer of 2022 and began to love it. When I later joined track in the winter, there were a lot of new people to meet, but it was still fun to work towards the same goals as the others on the team. Every week was a new adventure where we would go to a different place to compete. It’s a lot of fun to meet new people and work towards goals all together,” Swayngim said.

Triple sport athletes are definitely some of the most hard working high school students you can meet. They have an outstanding work ethic and manage their time responsibly.
