With an exciting win over the South Garner Titans, our FVHS varsity volleyball team concluded their Senior Night on a positive note. As the seniors took the court for the final time at home, the evening was full of celebration and memories.
Teammates gave moving speeches praising each senior’s leadership and influence prior to the game, honoring their contributions to the team.
Senior Braelynn Wagner said, “Volleyball has helped me introduce myself to new things and not be afraid to go out and try something new.”
Throughout the season, the seniors displayed not only skill but also a sense of closeness, which helped the team succeed. Their leadership, both on and off the court, helped the younger players connect as well as gain more confidence.
Senior Kenadi Johnson said, “Something I’m the proudest of is going more into the role of a captain and bringing the team together.”
The seniors’ bond was clear in every set, with teamwork and encouragement spreading throughout the court. Years of playing together has caused trust and friendship to build, which was evident in the team’s victory.
Senior Adreana Stuart said, “All of the other seniors have inspired me. We’ve been together for all four years, so it’s fun to watch us grow and become better friends.”
Even though this was the team’s last home game, they still have time to create more memories during their next game, as well as playoffs.
Senior Addison Smith said, “My favorite memory was hanging out with all the other senior girls and going to IHOP before our first game together.”
As the Bengals celebrated their win, the night serves both as a goodbye and a reminder of the lasting impact these seniors will leave. Their dedication and teamwork have established a standard for future FVHS volleyball players to look up to. The memories created on and off the court will inspire the team well into the future.
