Indie shows are films or projects that don’t partner with big companies to pay for their animations. They can be any age rating depending on what the creator chooses to include. There are many popular indie shows, most of them intended for adult audiences, like “Hellva Boss” and “Hazbin Hotel” made by Vivzipop and now available to watch on Amazon Prime and “Pretty Pretty Please I Don’t Want to Be a Magical Girl” made by Kiana Khansmith on YouTube. Those shows are really popular, but there is one production team that has been gaining popularity for letting the creators of their shows take control of animating and funding for their productions. That team is Glitch Productions.
Glitch Productions is the same group of people that created the popular Smg4. The team started off by making their own two shows, “Sunset Paradise” and “Meta Runners,” but ran out of ideas on what shows to make. They solved it by hiring creators to think of ideas while they animate them and letting the creator stay in charge of what happens in their show without Glitch Productions limiting them.
The shows that Glitch Productions has picked up that many people have watched are: “Murder Drones,” “The Amazing Digital Circus,” “The Gaslight District” and “The Knights of Guinevere.” All of these shows are extremely popular and are going the way the creators of these shows wanted them to go, but the best part is that Glitch Productions didn’t interfere or limit them and their shows, unlike more well-known companies.
So far, “Murder Drones” is the only one of these shows to have finished. “The Amazing Digital Circus” is on its way to finishing up with only two episodes left. “The Gaslight District” and “The Knights of Guenievere” are two new shows that Glitch Productions has started, and they both currently have pilot episodes.
Glitch Productions has gained so much popularity that the pilot episode of “The Knights of Guinevere” has over a million views after only two weeks of being out. All these shows have their own story and animation style. “The Knights of Guinevere” is a show made by Dana Terrace, the same creator as Disney’s “The Owl House.” The show ended up being canceled. Terrace in response made “The Knights of Guinevere” as a show mocking Disney, by having many characteristics as Disney, but the show is aimed for adults.
This all really goes to show that Glitch Productions enjoys making these shows and letting the creators express themselves and enjoy making these shows.
