A new dubbed season of “Pokémon Horizons: The Search For Laqua” has made its way to Netflix. Though the episodes are originally in Japanese, they have been ‘dubbed’ which means that voice actors who speak different languages acted out the characters’ voices, this makes the show accessible for those who speak various different languages like Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish. There is also an English-Audio Description version, which helps blind watchers understand what’s happening on screen.

“Pokémon Horizons: The Search For Laqua” involves the three main characters, Liko, Roy and Dot, along with their friends in the Rising Volt Tacklers, bringing Liko’s unique Pokémon, Terapagos, to a mythical location called Laqua.

Junior Sawyer Bley shared her opinion of the new eleven episodes.

“I thought it was pretty well done. There were some really nice surprises, especially with Gouging Fire,” Bley said. “And when they got to Laqua, there were some great fights, a lot of great character moments, and overall it ended very surprisingly. It was a great ending, in my opinion.”

Bley seemed very impressed with the character development and plot development of the show, particularly the inclusion of Amethio, a former antagonist, in the final fight scene, which bounced off some early major development for him.

“I think they managed to develop the characters really well and the ending definitely left for them to develop more with the time skip,” Bley said. “There were great evolutions that showed the Pokémon maturing as well with their partners. Overall, I think they had great character development.”

She shares the time skip brings up some really interesting plot points and is excited to see where the show goes next.

Overall, “Pokémon Horizons: The Search For Laqua” delivers a strong and engaging new installment for fans. The show effectively sets the stage for future adventures, leaving viewers excited for what the upcoming seasons will bring.
