The cast and crew of the school production of “The Play that Goes Wrong” has been decided. The members are preparing themselves for the upcoming show filled with hard work and teamwork.
With the new theatre season starting, many students have joined the FVHS theatre community for the first time.
One of the assistant stage managers, freshman Evelyn Bloom said, “I’m excited to work with a bunch of cool people and get really close with my group because there’s always a lot of good people in theatre. I was expecting to get grips but I got assistant stage manager which is shocking because this is my first show here. I think the play is going to be really funny. I’ve never seen it before, so I’m really excited to see everything go on. Auditions were really easy, they asked a few questions and then they let me go. It wasn’t stressful at all. It was very calm and chill.”
Bloom shows how new members of FVHS theatre are optimistic for their first show with this school and are looking forward to learning and growing with their team. Bloom also discusses how the audition process was really easy and laidback which is encouraging for kids interested in joining our theatre program for the first time.
Many returning crew members already have high hopes for the show and are looking forward to meeting their team—some of which they have worked with before.
Sophomore Katie Atkin said, “This is my second year in FHVS theatre. I’ve had other theatre experiences in the past though. I am most excited to see how the cast and crew pull the whole show together. I also get to work with several of my friends in props, and I’m excited to also get to know the new people on my team. One of the experiences I enjoy most about shows is closing night when we all get to celebrate the hard work that went into the show.”
Atkin expresses the excitement she and many other cast and crew share for the fall show. As a returning crew member, Atkin is excited to work with some of her friends that she has met through theatre. Atkin also reflects how exciting closing night is when the cast and crew get to celebrate all they have accomplished.
Tech members aren’t the only ones excited though, the actors are also excited about learning to portray their characters and meeting their fellow castmates.
The actor playing Max in “The Play that Goes Wrong,” Christian Fuenzalida, said, “My friends really encouraged me to join theatre. I’m looking forward to hanging out with my friends and having a good time during this show. I was just expecting an ensemble role because I have never even auditioned for a play before. I think it’s probably going to be one of the most fun plays we’ve done at this school. I just think it will be really cool.”
Fuenzalida expressed how “The Play that Goes Wrong” is a very exciting opportunity for him and he’s looking forward to the fun he will have in the acting process.
Across both the cast and the crew members many of them seem to have high hopes for “The Play that Goes Wrong” and everything it entails. The students participating in the play are looking forward to working hard and forging strong friendships over the course of the show.
