The school year’s winding down, and honestly, it kind of feels like just yesterday everybody was forgetting where their classes were and were trying to figure out whether or not they liked their teachers. But now that the year is almost out, it’s a good time to recall those moments that made this year really unique, for the students and the teachers. I asked around, and it seems like people remember this school year really well, definitely better than me.
“Honestly, the best part of the school year for me was just everyday in the cafeteria. I loved my lunch table and have a lot of good memories from there, said junior Jerry Thompson.
Thompson pretty much captures how sometimes the most significant memories don’t have to be from grand events, but the simple, authentic connections and good times he had across the school year.
“That one fight that happened in the first semester had to be my favorite moment… It was so crazy and everyone was talking about it,” said senior Kalen Hempfield.
Hempfield liked the more action-packed side of the school year, recalling one of the school fights as his most memorable moment to date. This shows how students sometimes remember the more exciting moments, even if others were more impactful on them or their school careers.
At the end of the day, the 2025 school year was memorable for a bunch of different reasons, whether it was connections you made with new friends or teachers, or just exciting things that probably weren’t supposed to happen. So as we head into the summer, it’s clear that a truly good school year isn’t dictated by the big events, but rather by the small moments that made it unique. These are the memories that will stick with us far after the last bell rings.
