March Madness is back, as the field of 68 teams has already been picked and is ready to play for a national championship.
Duke is my favorite team to win the national title. They have several great stars, including Cooper Flagg. This team managed to win the ACC despite Flagg being out with a sprained ankle. They have the talent, depth, and the firepower to win a national championship. The only question is whether their lack of experience will hurt them in the tournament.
Auburn, Florida, and Houston are also top contenders. Each of these teams have depth but also have the experience that is necessary to win a national championship. Auburn is my other pick to make the national championship as the Tigers have Johni Broome who is the second best college basketball player in the country.
As for those who may make a run, consider the Clemson Tigers to make a run. They beat Duke at home this year, the only ACC team to do so. They have the talent, depth and experience to make a Cinderella run this season to the final four. The region that they are in is relatively weak, besides Houston. Expect the Tigers to potentially make the Elite Eight or the Sweet Sixteen.
For the long shots who might win a game, I would point out the UC San Diego Tritons. They haven’t lost a game since February and have the potential to beat a Michigan team that is relatively weak. The Tritons should be must watch basketball if you would like to see a team that is an underdog to win a game or two.
You can watch the tournament games starting Thursday on TRU TV, TNT, TBS, and CBS starting at noon.
