NC has numerous professional teams, such as the Hurricanes, Panthers, Hornets, and Charlotte F.C. What the state doesn’t have is a professional baseball team.

 The state of North Carolina is a very good candidate for a major league baseball team.  A major league baseball team would drive revenue up for NC.

According to MLB Raleigh, an organization dedicated to bringing MLB to the Raleigh-Durham area, the area’s market is similar to that of Milwaukee, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Kansas City. All of these cities have major league baseball teams in their markets, but they don’t have at least one of the other major sports leagues in their region. Raleigh has all of these factors though.

The sports teams of these regions are also popular in their regions. We have several stadiums that could hold a major league baseball team. According to MLB Raleigh, the projected growth of the Raleigh Durham metropolitan area is expected to be around 29%. 

Also, the television market of the Raleigh-Durham area is the biggest of any market in the country without an MLB team. The Raleigh-Durham area is the richest of the metropolitan areas in the continental area without a baseball team in the United States within 100 miles of the area. This means that it could be in the hands of anyone who wishes to expand in the Raleigh area. 

The Durham Bulls have been a model team in the minor leagues. They have had a million fans show up per year in the past several years. They have won several championships and have had a whole lot of success throughout the years. They are a Triple-A team and have been extremely successful. The Durham Bulls model will be a very good model for a team in Raleigh.

If Raleigh-Durham had a baseball team, it would easily be one of the best performing small markets in the continental United States. It is clear that North Carolina is ready for a major league baseball team. All that is needed is some investors willing to take a chance on this area to put up a major league baseball team.
