FVHS varsity baseball has been off to a great start with a few wins already. On Feb. 25, they beat Holly Springs 5-4, and they won 6-5 against Green Hope on Feb. 26.
Varsity baseball coach Andrew McClannon said, “As a coach, you are always trying to figure out how athletes can get better. I enjoy winning because the players get to enjoy what they have been working hard on.”
McClannon has been working very diligently with his team to fully enhance their skills and abilities.
Regardless of how an individual performs, only the best teams will fully succeed if they work cooperatively with one another. Over time, this team will become a family which will only help them improve their skills and teamwork.
“Winning a baseball game is awesome because you put it in all the work, and that is what you get out of it,” said senior Brison Strickland. “We have a lot of fight in us, so we will be good.” Strickland shows through his words and actions, how much passion he has for baseball and the knowledge of knowing the importance of the game.
The varsity baseball team has been working continuously to succeed in their games and showed their hard work in their two wins of the season so far. Players have been also building strong relationships with each other, making it easier for them to work as a team when on the field.
They will continue to build each other up and support one another as the season goes on. If you would like to watch the FVHS varsity baseball team play, their next game will be on Mar. 11 at 7:00 p.m. against Corinth Holders High School.
