Over the course of 50 years, Fuquay-Varina High School has had many students who have graduated. But some students wanted to come back for more and have decided to teach at Fuquay-Varina High.
Coach Dylan Cole, Class of 2018, said, “I’ve always loved Fuquay, and it’s great to be on the teacher’s side of it.”
This shows how much appreciation Cole has for Fuquay-Varina High School.
Student Services receptionist, Amanda Baker, Class of 1996, said, “My perspective has changed. I have a lot more respect for what the teachers do. As a teenager you don’t appreciate as much the hard work of the teachers and staff and everybody that it takes to make the school successful.”
Baker has gained insight on what it’s like to be a staff member at Fuquay-Varina High School. This also shaped her performance as a staff member.
Baker said, “I gained new insight and appreciation for what it takes to make the school day go well.”
Since coming back to Fuquay-Varina, both Cole and Baker have had interactions with the teachers they’ve had in the past. They both show how much they cherish seeing their teachers again, as well as using some of their techniques with their future students.
“Having Coach Hall in football shaped me, and I use a lot of things I learned from him as a player and things that I use as a coach now,” said Cole.
During Baker’s time at Fuquay-Varina as a staff member, she has bumped into some of her former teachers.
“There were some teachers here that were working here when I was in school, and I always loved to see them,” said Baker.
It’s great to see staff members here who have so much appreciation for Fuquay-Varina High School, especially those who attended the school as teenagers.
