Electronics have become a big issue nowadays. Electronics such as phones, computers, iPads, watches, and TVs can become addicting and it’s hard to go through the day without using some of these types of devices nowadays.
Electronics can have positives and negatives to them but especially negative effects when they are used way too much. They harm your mental and physical health. If you’re looking at a screen for too long it can cause eye strain. You can also get back pain from sitting down and looking at your device in an awkward position.
Electronic devices can also cause pretty big mental issues like anxiety, depression, and loneliness. Because you have social media and video games on your devices, it can make it harder to stop constantly trying to look at your phone.
Lots of social media apps and gaming apps try to get you hooked on their app so you use it more. People struggle with trying to go without their devices because of that.
Junior Marley Johnston said,” Yes I would say I’m addicted to my devices.The constant scrolling on my phone releases dopamine I’m pretty sure, and that’s why it’s become so addicting.”
Johnston also mentioned that she has noticed this from a lot of other people around her too and it has become a broad issue. With the constant scrolling on your phone, you can set limits on screen time and focus on other activities to create a healthier practice. Taking small steps can make a big difference in your mental health day by day.
