Fuquay-Varina High School will host the Roar-N-Ride Vendor Fair and Car Show Saturday, Nov. 16. It will be at the school from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be food, trucks and exotic cars. Everyone is welcome to come out and support the Bengal Athletics departments.
Junior Holden Bierman said, “[We are hosting] to support our athletics, support the community, bring people together and to support Fuquay-Varina High School.”
Anyone can come to the Roar-N Ride Car Show. People will be able to buy tickets to win prizes, as well as get prizes for their cars.
Bierman said, “We have boats coming. We’ve got some cool vendors and food and people just coming out to support the community.”
Senior Bryant Olivares Marquez was excited to see all the fancy sports cars at the car show. He’s not expecting anything rare but is interested in everything that will be there.
Olivares Marquez said, “I grew up with cars. Some of them hold a special place in my heart.”
Olivares Marquez explained that seeing his dream car on the road taught him that if you work really hard you can also have a car like it.
These car shows bring attention to the Bengal athletics and get more sponsors for the departments. More sponsors leads to more money for athletics.
“Most of the funding comes from the school, not the county,” Olivares Marquez said. These events get FVHS students and departments a spotlight.
Senior Brock Reese said that these events are important to get funding for the school and have high quality organizations.
“I think when you have any kind of large organization at school, you need some sort of fundraising for it. Because we live in a county where there are a lot of public high schools, not every high school gets the funding they need for everything,” said Reese.
Reese hasn’t been to a car show in years but he tries to stay involved in the car community. He knows these events can bring the community together.
Reese said, “I do know that the car community in Fuquay and in Wake County in general is growing, and it’s interesting to see what sort of modifications and which cars are becoming more popular.”
If you are interested in cars, food, and prizes, come to the Roar-N-Ride Vendor Fair and Car Show to support our school athletics department.
