Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets lost 25-22 to the New England Patriots on Oct. 27. The Patriots, who lost their starting quarterback Drake Maye to a concussion, managed to rally impressively. First off, credit goes to the Patriots for coming together as a team just a week after head coach Jerod Mayo called them “soft.” Despite their quarterback’s injury, they didn’t give up. Jacoby Brissett stepped up and led two scoring drives in the fourth quarter, securing a much-needed victory for New England and snapping their six-game losing streak in the process.
The Jets season looks to be all but over at this point, and Aaron Rodgers is the problem. First, he recently got Robert Saleh, the former head coach of the Jets fired after a 2-3 start. The Jets have lost three straight games, looking worse each time. This comes after the Jets spent draft capital to acquire Davonte Adams, Rodgers’ old friend from Green Bay, from the Las Vegas Raiders.
Should we be surprised that Aaron Rodgers is bringing the Jets down? No, not at all. Rodgers’ off field issues are serious as well. He has promoted several conspiracy theories off the field, such as how he hasn’t been vaccinated for Covid due to his “allergy,” how HIV was created by the federal government, he doubts the story of 9/11 and has promoted the theory that the Sandy Hook School Massacre was “an inside job.”
Deshone Kizer, Rodgers’ former backup quarterback, told The Brenneman Show that Aaron Rodgers told him that he believed the moon landing was faked, and several of the topics discussed between the two were “inner Earth, reptile people, and Jeffery Epstein.”
He has also been involved in a long running spat with ABC Late Night host, Jimmy Kimmel, which started when Rodgers claimed in a Nov. 2021 press conference that he was “immunized” from COVID-19, before testing positive for COVID later that month. Jimmy Kimmel then made several jokes about Aaron Rodgers lying about being vaccinated.
The spat escalated until it reached its peak. On Jan. 2, 2024, Aaron Rodgers went on The Pat Mcafee Show on ESPN, and claimed that the late night comedian was on the infamous “Epstein Island List,” after which Kimmel threatened, “Keep it up, and we will debate the facts further in court.” Rodgers has since apologized publicly for the comments he made about Jimmy Kimmel, however, and has denied making the comments that he made about Sandy Hook.
Aaron Rodgers’ play has been lackluster most of the season as well. He has thrown for 1,856 yards, 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Nothing has seemed to work for the Jets this year, and Rodgers is their problem, plain and simple. According to several inside sources in the Jets organization, Rodgers was one of the biggest catalysts for Robert Saleh’s firing.
So, we get the picture of Aaron Rodgers. He is a fraud, and unless the Jets get rid of him, the team will not get better anytime soon.
