The FVHS gymnastics team gained another winning title at the conference championship on Oct. 26.
The conference championship brought together some of the best gymnastics teams in the area, including Willow Spring High School, Cleveland High School, and Corinth Holders High School. But once again, FVHS won the conference.
Regan Ziglar, who has been doing gymnastics since she was four years old, was thrilled to take part in the conference. Just like everyone else on the team, Ziglar worked hard and prepared for the conference. The team kept their practices fast paced and diligent.
“I focused on cleaning up my skills that week to make sure I could perform to the best of my ability,” Ziglar said.
This victory was a result of their hard work and team effort. They had outstanding performances throughout all the events including vault, bars, balance beam and floor routines. While most gymnasts improved and shone individually, it was the collective strength and capability of the team that secured the win.
One exciting aspect of the victory was the team’s ability to build on last year’s championship skills. Many of the gymnasts on the team had already earned conference titles last year but came back stronger with improvements and more confidence.
The team has proven that they are strong competitors and have talent and use teamwork to be able to compete at the highest levels.
While the gymnastics team spends a lot of time practicing, the girls on the team still find time to bond and make friendships with one another.
Ziglar said, “My favorite part of the team is the people on it. I love them and we all get along and just laugh and have a good time.”
Not only does this lead to a better sense of teamwork but also builds upon the connections the teammates have with each other. This win will be a moment to remember and hold on to for all the girls on the gymnastics team but will also motivate them to push further and achieve even better things.
