In the motorcycle community, riders are always comparing bikes. They try to see whose bike can go the fastest. Now If we talk about real speed, the Kawasaki Ninja H2R is the fastest factory motorcycle, as it is capable of reaching an astonishing speed of 249 mph.
It has a supercharged 998cc Inline-four engine that produces 310 horsepower and offers mind-blowing acceleration to the riders.
Coming at a price of $60,000, The H2R is available at Kawasaki dealerships.
However, the H2R is not all about sheer horsepower; its elegant shape coupled with aerodynamic winglets allows the motorcycle to be stable and not lose control at those jaw-dropping speeds making it a track beast.
“Going fast on the highway and swerving around cars sounds super fun,” said senior Kylie Atiles.
There is kind of a price that comes with the excitement of riding such a powerful motorcycle. Motorcycle riders tend to be at a more exposed level in cases of accidents because motorcycles by design lack certain protective covers that may be present in cars.
The speeds of any motorcycle endangers the user. When riders push themselves and the bike to its limits, reaching high speeds, the risk of injury and death drastically increases. From scabs to death, anything can happen on a motorcycle.
It is at this point where protective gear reaches utmost importance. The most basic level of protective wear includes but is not limited to: a good helmet, jacket, gloves and boots. Wearing these can entirely change the results of a crash.
Protecting the head from an accident would be accomplished by the right size of a helmet, while abrasion shields protect the skin from hard surface contact.
Besides providing feeling and enhancing grip, gloves play a preventive role against hand injuries through potholes and other obstacles on the road. One of the most important protective equipment is boots, delivering important ankle support.
Overall with great speed, comes with great responsibility. Stay safe.
