This past Friday students gathered together to enjoy the Homecoming football game as well as an eventful halftime. The highlight of the night was the announcement of the Homecoming court results.
The football game had a strong turnout and full stands of students and families. The crowd was loud as they cheered on our team but the game was challenging. The Bengals faced a competitive opponent, Cleveland High School, with a final score of 44-21. Regardless of their hard work, the Bengals were unable to secure the win.
During halftime the Homecoming court was brought to the field and introduced to the crowd. The king and queen Jordan Enwereuzor and Ella Wachtel were crowned, celebrating their achievement and involvement in school spirit. The two expressed their appreciation for the support they received from not only one another but as well as their peers.
“It was really good to hear everyone being so happy for me. With everyone’s support it made me really feel like I had a community behind me,” said Homecoming king Jordan Enwereuzor.
The announcement of the court and the crowning ceremony highlighted the importance of school spirit within the community. Administration, students, and families celebrated the event which strives to seek unity within our school community.
“It was nice to hear that I do have people who believe in me, who are there for me and that are proud of me,” said Homecoming queen Ella Wachtel.
The Homecoming event underlines the importance of school spirit and tradition within the school. Students enjoyed dancing and capturing memories together.
“I enjoyed going to the dance and was very appreciative of the work the Student Council put into the dance for us all to be able to enjoy,” said sophomore Eleanny Martinez.
As the year goes on, the sense of community fostered by events like Homecoming will remain an essential part of the student experience. With more activities and opportunities like this to come, faculty and students look forward to engaging in school spirit and activities. The enthusiasm that was displayed during Homecoming serves as a reminder of the importance of community support throughout the school.
