According to Trump’s campaign site, Former President Donald Trump said, “I am safe and well, no one was hurt, Thank God! But there are people in this world who will do whatever it takes to stop us. I will not stop fighting for you. I will never surrender!”
The suspect Ryan Routh was arrested and charged with two federal gun charges: possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. If guilty of his crimes, he could spend up to 15 years for the first one and up to five years for the second.
In 2016, Ryan Routh was a Trump supporter, but later supported Nikki Haley. He registered as a Democrat in 1988 and later changed to unaffiliated in 2002. He was removed from voter roll several times due to felony convictions but generally was registered as unaffiliated.
