Graduation is right around the corner, and for many seniors this can come as both a relief and a huge stress. While it’s nice to have different graduation-oriented activities planned for the class of 2024, keeping track of everything can be overwhelming.
“It’s definitely a lot to keep track of,” explained senior Sydney Spaulding. “But I’m really looking forward to all the memories to be made.”
However, this shouldn’t come as too much of a problem as long as seniors take a little bit of extra time to stay organized and ensure they don’t skip out on any of the planned activities.
Festivities kick off with Senior Night on Tuesday, June 4, at 6:30 p.m. Seniors are expected to arrive at school by 5:45 p.m. to line up prior to the event. Seniors should arrive dressed in their graduation gowns, excluding the cap. Senior Night is expected to be a memorable night celebrating the many achievements of the class of 2024.
The following day, Wednesday, June 5, is Senior Day. Specific details surrounding Senior Day are yet to be announced; however, seniors should show up to school as usual, but they will not participate in their regular classes for that day.
An essential part of graduation preparation is the mandatory graduation rehearsal on Wednesday, June 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, located at
2 E. South St., Raleigh. It’s important that all seniors attend the graduation rehearsal ceremony and arrange their own transportation to and from Raleigh Memorial Auditorium. During the rehearsal, seniors will receive their five guest tickets for the actual graduation ceremony.
On the same day, June 12, seniors will be able to unwind and enjoy the Senior Sunset at
6 p.m. on the Bengal Football Field. This event provides the perfect opportunity for seniors to reflect on their high school journey and look forward to their future plans after graduation.
“It’ll be a beautiful way to end our high school careers,” noted Spaulding.
The culmination of these activities is the graduation ceremony itself, which will be held Friday, June 14, at 12 p.m. at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium. Seniors must arrive by 11 a.m., dressed in full cap and gown, along with any cords you may have received. This occasion marks the end of their high school journey and the beginning of their next chapter.
If you have any questions about any particular event you can check out the FVHS website, specifically the graduation section or reach out to administration.
While thoughts of graduation can be stressful, it’s important that you remember to celebrate, reflect and enjoy these final moments of high school.
