Hot takes are strong opinions normally conflicting with the majority. FVHS students are diverse, so there are a wide variety of hot takes around our school.
One includes what type of water is best to drink.
“Water does have a taste and different waters have different tastes,” junior Elaine Stuber stated.
I do agree with this opinion because the minerals and chemicals dissolved in water affects its taste. I would rather drink a bottle of Pure Life over Aquafina any day, simply because of the taste. When asked why she doesn’t drink tap water, Stuber said, “Tap water is nasty.” She feels strongly about her opinion.
“Water has no taste, bottled or tap, it’s all the same,” senior Sanai Mondie said. I do not agree with her. I think there are a lot of contributions to water’s taste, of which the opinions vary a lot.
Mondie’s hot take is, “I hate it when you put your car in park and it rolls back or forward a couple of inches.”
I agree with this. I’ve never put too much thought into the small movement, but I have had multiple small heart attacks because of this, thinking I didn’t put my emergency brake on in my standard transmission car and it began to roll backward. This is a terrifying moment.
For young drivers and new drivers, the little jump can be frustrating. I didn’t know people considered it to be one of their biggest daily annoyances.
“Pizza without pineapple just doesn’t make sense,” Stuber said.
I do agree. I think pineapple adds sweetness, although it is a widely controversial topic.
“Pineapple has no place on a pizza,” senior Jeiel Gonzalez stated.
I think many people that don’t like pineapple on pizza just haven’t given it much of a chance and made their decision on it before really giving it a try. I think it is the perfect addition to a savory meal like pizza.
Not everyone will ever agree on all topics; there are a variety of opinions and preferences. Regardless, listening to other people’s opinions can change your own.
