People have argued for a long time over whether Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts is better. Some people prefer Dunkin’s cheaper prices and their signature donuts, while others like Starbucks’ premium feel and customization options.
Although Dunkin’ has a cheaper price for drip coffee, some are willing to pay more for what they believe is a more quality tasting coffee.
“I think Starbucks is overpriced, Dunkin’ is priced fine, but Starbucks tastes a lot better,” said sophomore Gia Spano.
Another feature students favor about Starbucks is their cozy and modern coffeehouse feel.
“Starbucks is a more comfortable place to sit in than Dunkin’,” said sophomore Lyric Gibson.
Spano agreed saying, “Starbucks is a more welcoming place to sit in.”
Gibson thinks Starbucks’ pricing is too expensive to make a routine out of. A drip coffee at Starbucks is $2.25 compared to Dunkin’s drip coffee which is only $1.89.
“I don’t go often, but every time, I would end up spending more than ten dollars,” Gibson said.
Spano also agreed with this, saying, “Enough for a medium drink and a snack is under $15.”
For anyone who doesn’t like coffee, food is an option at these franchises. However, most are divided on who has the better quality snacks.
“I love Dunkin’s bagel bites, but Starbucks is okay too,” said Spano.
However, Gibson disagrees saying, “The food I’ve gotten from Starbucks are cake pops and a sandwich, which are both really good.”
Although it’s very close, most people prefer Starbucks and are willing to ignore the expensive prices because of their high quality drinks and food. Regardless, it’s very clear that FVHS students love these coffee establishments.
