The long-lasting confrontation between Xbox and PlayStation has come to a halt, as Xbox is giving exclusive rights away to Nintendo and PlayStation.
Xbox and PlayStation have been in a rivalry for the past 24 years, battling on performance, exclusives and enjoyability.
Xbox’s popular exclusives include the “Forza” games, “Sea of Thieves,” “Ark,” “Halo,” “Hi-Fi Rush” and “Fable.” These games are an example of what gives Xbox the slight advantage in its race against PlayStation.
Yet, Xbox is giving up the rights to some of these games, which make-up a big part of Xbox’s exclusivity.
With next-gen consoles consisting of the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5, both consoles perform relatively the same to the average person. But the Xbox Series X beats the PlayStation 5 specs by a tiny bit.
What Xbox does lack is the quantity of quality games it owns. Often-times the most important part to a console is the exclusivity.
“PlayStation is better because it has more games,” said Chris Wall, former FVHS student.
PlayStation owns the rights to popular games including “Ratchet & Clank,” “The Last of Us,” “Gran Turismo,” “Spider-Man,” “God of War” and more.
PlayStation’s games versus Xbox’s performance puts the battle to an almost equal level. With Xbox giving up their games, they’ve lost the advantage and have taken second place.
